Community coaches invited to master class

AFL Queensland, in conjunction with the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast SUNS, are giving community football coaches an opportunity to learn from the best with their upcoming coaching master classes.

The two master classes will be run at the Gabba and Metricon Stadium respectively, free of charge to all accredited coaches to attend.

The nights will cover off on the important aspects of coaching modern day football, from player management skills right through to stoppages in todays game.

Both clubs have volunteered their time and resources to give back to community football, the grass roots level of the game.

The Brisbane Lions master class will kick off at 6pm, Monday August 10, and will include presentations from Simon Black and Danny Daley, covering topics such as contested skills coaching, goal kicking, stoppages and effective training sessions.

The Gold Coast SUNS master class starts at 6pm on Monday August 17, and will include presentations from Matthew Lappin, Ashley Prescott and Josh Fraser, covering topics such as the role of the assistant coach, effective kicking and developing young players.

Numbers to each event are limited, but if you’re interested in attending, please contact Steve Wildschut here
