The AFL returns to Cairns for a fifth straight year when the Western Bulldogs host the Gold Coast SUNS at Cazalys Stadium on Saturday July 11, 4:35pm.

North Queensland sports fans are encouraged to purchase now to guarantee tickets as excitement continues to build around the Toyota AFL Premiership match.

AFL Cairns President, Gary Young, said, “We love having the nation’s eyes on Cazalys Stadium and Cairns to show off what a fantastic part of Australia we live in.

“It’s evident from the continued support of North Queensland fans that Australian Football has really earned a special place in their hearts.

“We can’t wait for the Western Bulldogs to come up here for a second year and it’s the fifth year the Gold Coast SUNS have played here, so I’m sure they will provide us with a true spectacle of athleticism and skill next week,” Young said.

Western Bulldogs player, Dale Morris, visited the region earlier this year and said he was looking forward to getting back to play the match at Cazalys Stadium.

“After visiting Cairns earlier in the year, I can’t wait to return for the match against the SUNS next week, in what is set to be a really exciting match.

“We want to continue building the game and our fan base in the area and look forward to seeing as many Bulldogs fans there on the night,” Morris said.
