It’s been a long time in the making, but the Queensland rivalry in Australian football starts at the Gabba on Saturday 7th May.
The Queensland Clash matches, to be known as Q Clash, between the Gold Coast Suns and Brisbane Lions signal another leap forward in the development of the game in our State. T
hey are built on the many thousands of hours of hard work from volunteers, players and administrators like you, to keep growing the game and providing opportunities for Queenslanders to become involved and play at the elite level.
Ten years ago, who would have imagined two Queensland players like Charlie Dixon and Daniel Merrett playing against each other as members of two Queensland AFL teams.
The players and coaches of both AFL Clubs are eagerly awaiting Q Clash 1. There is no doubt from their interviews and comments since the Gold Coast SUNS were born that they want to win – they feel the pride of Queensland is on the line.
